The aim of the timber extension is to offer a modular housing typology that can be replicated in other locations of similar character. It was also important to adapt the new structure to the existing building seamlessly while respecting the industrial heritage. The extension aligns with the approach of a habitable facade, blending outdoor spaces with the interiors and presenting opportunities for connecting the residential spaces with the public plaza.

The architectural expression of ‘Treehouse Community Living’ celebrates history, heritage and identity. It carries these themes into a future that is more caring, and reconciliatory of the natural and human world. Deep studies discovered narratives embedded in geography and social history, weaving them together to present a new tableau rich in architectural beauty, natural resilience and community life. A community that gains by the sharing of tangible commodities such as resources and spaces, but also intangible aspects, such as joyful moments and aspirations for the future.
